The role!
Position: Specialized Skills Instructor - Journey
Location: Woburn, MA
Pay rate: $21.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday (8am-4pm)

The Upward Skills Instructor is a specialized role within our Day Services Program that mentor individuals with higher abilities on the Autism spectrum to enhance their independence by helping them network socially, develop friendships, and create new relationships through our Upward Program.
- Provide personal assistance, teach, and support a group of young people who have autism without a developmental disability
- Assess Individuals’ trainings needs, cultivate descriptive teaching programs, and monitor effectives through data collection
- Adapt your own interests (art, music, cooking, health & fitness, etc.) to teach others new skills
- Develop and implement community-based activities
- Provide personal care and assistance to Individuals consistent with individual needs as they strive to reach their goals
Qualifications
- High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
- A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Must pass company background and reference checks
